Arthritis Self Help Information
Arthritis Self
Help was founded in
2003 by Georgia Braidford (our Project
Manager), who herself suffers with
arthritis. She was frustrated by the
lack of help and support which was
available to her after her medical
treatment had finished, and decided to
do
something positive about it !!
Today we have two
support groups
running, one in Westbury which meets
twice a month, and one in
Trowbridge which meets once a
month.
Exercise is a key
part of each
meeting. By keeping the body mobile,
joints will find it easier to move.
Meetings can also include craft
activities, stress management therapy,
quizes, animal therapy, and visits
from guest speakers.
The meetings are a
time when fellow
sufferers can get together, share
experiences and give each other
support
The two groups get
together socially
throughout the year for various
activities and outings. Transport can
always be arranged, giving all members
the opportunity to participate.
We are a very
friendly bunch of
people, and warmly welcome new
members.
