Founded in 1911 we are one of the oldest Bowls Clubs in Wiltshire, the first recorded match was played on Wednesday 25th may 1912 on the Rowing Club site, from which we moved in 1966 as it was adjacent the river Avon at Barton Farm and subject to flooding. Culver Close is situated in a country park close to the river surrounded by open fields and tree lined games areas and is the ideal spot for a bowls green.

We do however have parking problems at peak times.

As a club we have a strong social side with teams in Several Mens Ladies and mixed leagues together many friendly matches during the season.

It is a tradition of the club to tour most years to many interesting parts of the country. In the past we have visited:- Aberavon Bournemouth,Eastbourne,Exmouth,Torquay, and Ilfracombe.

You can find us at Culver Close off Frome Road at the end of Pound Lane with parking in the station car park.

At the present time we have some 45 Men,30 Ladies ,1 Junior and 15 Social members, any new members would be made very welcome. Membership application forms can be obtained by contacting our club secretary:- Telephone 01225 862359. Our subscription for the 2009 Season is £60 for full members with a 50% discount for new members when they join. Junior Members £15 and Social Members £ 5.
