WILTSHIRE CIL DISABILITY EQUALITY TRAINING Wiltshire CIL runs a DET training bureau through which organisations in the commercial statutory and voluntary sectors can contract with to have disability equality training delivered to their staff. We will arrange for suitable trainers and guarantee quality control in exchange for a fee. Most of which is then passed on to the trainer. Wiltshire CIL has a small team of disabled people acting as trainers and we are also happy to be asked to provide facilitators and make presentations for parts of conferences etc. Whatever your need is please contact us for individual negotiation. We have developed the bureau in consultation with Wiltshire County Council Department of Community Services who plan to contract with us to deliver DET courses to WCC employees.
We have been able to support a group of disabled people learn the principles of disability equality and practice
training skills through a Regeneration grant for social enterprise awarded through Wiltshire and Swindon Community Foundation.

INDIVIDUAL BUDGETS DEVELOPMENT
The pilot sites for the development of Individual Budgets and 'In Control' have been trying out providing people with a lump sum annually to meet their support needs and enabling them to arrange the support they want without further controls. This takes the philosophy of Direct Payments a stage further in that service users do not need to have detailed plans of how they will buy their support prior to receiving the funding. The feed back from service users in the pilot sites has been good.
Wiltshire CIL is pleased to be working with Wiltshire County Council Department of Community Services in planning the introduction of a pilot on Individual Budgets from April 1st 2008. Two of the CIL committee are on the national self support academy where they learn about developments nationally. Since August 07 four disabled people have been working with Chris Chorley consultant and WCC
managers on a reference group about developing this pilot. The members of the pilot group have self selected from direct payment users and are now working at their self assessment in preparation for the transfer on April 1st 2008.
