The Somerset Care Group is one of the major care providers in England and one of the largest not for profit care companies in the UK, meaning any surpluses generated are re-invested into the care we provide. Our Investors In People (IIP) status confirms our commitment to developing and training our staff.

We are registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) who ensure domiciliary care providers are regulated and inspected against nationally agreed standards. All our staff are subject to an enhanced disclosure by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB).

We look after over 3,500 clients in their own homes and offer a wide range of flexible quality services to meet our clients' care needs. These are outlined as follows:

• Personal Care can be provided for those who need assistance with getting up, washing, dressing, eating, using the toilet, and taking their medication. Our companionship and sitting services provide vital respite, allowing family carers to have a break, or they can be used to provide clients with somebody to talk to.

• We can stay overnight to watch over clients who may be suffering particular difficulties, perhaps having just been discharged from hospital, and we also assist with rehabilitation.

• Domestic support can be provided for tasks such as cooking, cleaning, ironing, laundry, and shopping.

• We can help with those things that can sometimes cause stress like organising bill payments, repairs to domestic appliances etc.

• Pop-in visits can be arranged just to check up and give reassurance, or perhaps to remind clients to take their medication, and we can also arrange to accompany clients on trips out, visiting friends and relatives, or perhaps to obtain services which would otherwise be impossible to access.

Somerset Care at Home continues to support Local Authorities in their Initial Response and Rapid Response initiatives, and are now providing an Emergency Response service in Bath and North East Somerset. We are proud to be involved in this service which eases pressure on emergency hospital admissions, and we offer ongoing care packages for clients whenever possible to enable them to retain their independence.

Our services normally operate from 7am to 11pm seven days per week, but we can operate outside these hours by arrangement.

We support clients who are older, people with learning disabilities or mental health problems, and we also provide children's services.

We offer services to both those who pay privately, and those who receive financial help from Social Services, including those clients who receive direct payments.
