About WVCP

Image 1 for About WVCP The Warminster & Village Community Partnership (WVCP) comprises local individuals, groups and organisations and local councillors, to improve the quality of life in the area. The WVCP officers re- elected at the 2015 AGM are: Len Turner (Chair), Michael Mounde (Vice- Chair) and Pip Ridout (Treasurer).

Image 2 for About WVCP The Warminster community area embraces the town of Warminster and the parishes of Bishopstrow, Boyton, Chapmanslade, Chitterne, Codford, Corsley, Crockerton, Heytesbury, Horningsham, Brixton Deverill, Kingston Deverill, Knook, Longbridge Deverill, Maiden Bradley with Yarnfield, Norton Bavant, Sherrington, Stockton, Sutton Veny, Upton Lovell, and Upton Scudamore.

The 2005 Community Plan was updated after extensive public consultation to capture local concerns and aspirations. The result is 'Your Community Plan 2013-2026' that is a living document framed around the Joint Strategic Assessment (JSA) themes: Stronger Communities; Health & Wellbeing; Children & Young people; Economy; Transport; Housing; Community Safety; Leisure; Environment; Culture & Arts.

Local views and input in this process is really valued as the Community Plan is the community’s recognised statement of what it wants to see done to improve or maintain the quality of life in Warminster and the surrounding area. The Community Plan in particular informs Wiltshire Council of local needs to help direct future funding. Local people are encouraged to consider how and where they can become more involved in helping to ensure that the Plan’s objectives are achieved.

The Partnership is open to all who live or work in the Warminster community area. It is managed by a Committee elected at its AGM and the work is taken forward both by this Committee and a number of partnership Groups. The WVCP Management Committee meets monthly and new members are welcome. If you would like to join, contribute in any way or read committee minutes, then please get in touch - see the CONTACT US link (left).
