The Warminster Philatelic Society was established in 1964 and is affiliated to The Wiltshire and District Philatelic Federation and The Association of British Philatelic Societies. Meetings are held usually on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month between September and May, a full programme will be issued shortly and will be available on this website. On the 24th October 2023 one of our speakers from Salisbury PS, will be displaying “The Bailiwick of Guernsey”, which will cover Postal History, first stamps and the continuing popularity of this Channel Island.

The meetings are held at St. John’s Church Hall, Boreham Road, Warminster, Wiltshire BA12 9JY. The meeting rooms are open from 7.15pm for 7.30pm start. As well as up to 6 guest speakers per year, club members have a chance to socialise, display elements of their collection and share their specific interests with other club/society members. We usually include an auction in our programme, this year we tried a bourse, which we are hoping to repeat next season and make it open to other clubs and individuals. A small annual subscription helps with the hire of the hall, insurances and of course, refreshments are included.

The society has its own competition for those that like to display parts of their collection, usually displayed under specific themes or titles. As well as our own competition there is an opportunity to go forward to the Wiltshire Federation Competition and perhaps even further. The club also has a healthy monthly circulation of approval books, the contents of which are sensibly priced and as such provide an opportunity to acquire new material at bargain prices in the comfort of your own home. Come and share your hobby you will be made most welcome.
