WINGFIELD PARISH COUNCIL

The role of a Parish Councillor

The Parish Council has a maximum of six members. Three members form a quorum. It is elected for a four year term, with the next election due in May 2007.

Who are we ?

The Council is made up of local residents who are elected or co-opted onto the Council. We are all volunteers and our role is to maintain and improve local services, both directly through the Village precept and indirectly through the local authority. We aim to represent the views of the local residents.

Join the Council ?

The Council is always looking for volunteers, who are prepared to give up some of their time to join the Council and support their local Community.

Central Government is delegating more responsibility to Local Government and more so in the near future. Being a Councillor can be interesting and rewarding when being involved.

If you are interested, please contact the Clerk or one of the Councillors.
