Formal twinning visits are arranged on a three year cycle. German visitors who come to Bradford on Avon in one year are followed by a return trip of Wiltshire visitors going to Norden the next year. The final year in this cycle is a 'gap year' when both towns can start preparing for the next set of visits.

Individual Twinning members can obviously arrange extra private trips. Visits involving local clubs, societies and associations are also encouraged.

Bradford on Avon German Twinning arranges various local events particularly for members. We usually include some German aspects – such as a Frisian tea party and a German film – but also enjoy an annual Sunday lunch and a Christmas buffet.

If you haven’t previously been on a twinning visit you should be able to anticipate some generous German hospitality, make new friends, and also be reassured that your hosts are likely to understand English reasonably well!
