Warminster Copheap and Wylye

The Warminster Copheap and Wylye division of the new Wiltshire Council is based on the former Mid Wylye Valley ward of West Wiltshire District Council, which included both sides of the Wylye Valley between the southern edge of Warminster and Bapton, also taking in a large part of Salisbury Plain. The ward included Bapton, Bishopstrow, Boyton, Chitterne, Chitterne Ansty, Codford St Mary, Codford St Peter, Corton, Heytesbury, Imber, Knook, Norton Bavant, Sherrington, Stockton, Tytherington, and Upton Lovell.

To create the new unitary division of Warminster Copheap and Wylye, the part of the town of Warminster north of the Bristol to Weymouth railway line was added to the former district ward. The unusual thing about this area of Warminster is that well over half of its voters are in the married quarters of the British Army's Warminster Garrison.

The town and parish councils are -

Boyton PC (Boyton & Corton)
Chitterne PC (Chitterne St Mary & Chitterne All Saints)
Codford PC (Codford St Mary & Codford St Peter)
Heytesbury, Imber & Knook PC (Chitterne Ansty, Heytesbury, Imber, Knook & Tytherington)
Stockton PC (Bapton, Stockton, & Fisherton Mill)
Upton Lovell PC (Upton Lovell)
Warminster TC (Warminster Copheap ward of the town of Warminster)

Bishopstrow, Norton Bavant and Sherrington are small villages and have Parish Meetings instead of Parish Councils - that is, all electors for the parish are members.
